Overview
Emperor Yul of the Yuan Empire falls for the ethereal Hwi-eon after spotting him bathing in moonlight. Bringing him to the palace as his consort, their passionate romance blooms until Yul becomes pregnant—but Hwi-eon's cold reaction creates a rift between them. When the empress exposes Hwi-eon's hidden past, the furious emperor imprisons his lover. After giving birth alone, Yul seeks reconciliation, but Hwi-eon has already escaped. During their tumultuous reunion, rebels attack the palace, leaving Hwi-eon critically wounded. Only then does Yul realize his true feelings. Through devoted care and sleepless vigils, he nurses Hwi-eon back to health. Exhausted from worry, the emperor falls asleep by his bedside—and awakens to find his beloved smiling back at him, finally recovered.
Main Characters
Hwi-eon (T): An enigmatic beauty who appeared before the emperor while bathing in a moonlit lake. When offered the chance to become a royal consort, he eagerly seized the opportunity. Though clever as a fox by nature, he expected palace life to be manageable—yet somehow becomes helplessly outmaneuvered when caught up in court conspiracies. BottomYul (B): Ruler of the Won Empire and the only male royal blessed with the ability to bear children. Being one of the males who can bear children, his eyes turned into piercing gold when he was fifteen. From his iron throne, he feared nothing and no one—until meeting Hwi-eon began to soften his hardened heart.
Memorable Quote
Hwi-eon raised his eyes before lowering them again. After blinking pitifully a few times, he gently took the Emperor's hand. "This concubine is the most splendid."
